Stephanie Martignago
With over 20 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families, Stephanie has been able to provide her clients with a renewed sense of hope, insight and fulfilment. Over this time, Stephanie has provided therapeutic interventions across a diverse range of settings, working in community health, schools and private practice. Stephanie sees clients from age 16 and above.
Stephanie’s area of expertise lies in the assessment, treatment and therapy of a range of issues, including anxiety disorders, depression and other mood disorders, self- esteem, self-harm, eating disorders, grief and loss, trauma and relationship difficulties.
Stephanie has extensive experience in working with adolescents, adults and families and is passionate about helping them to embrace their strengths and unique qualities. Stephanie holds a strong belief in building a secure, reassuring and empowering therapeutic relationship with all of her clients and uses this as a foundation for creating positive growth and change in their lives.
Stephanie’s empathic, professional and person-centred approach seeks to create a safe environment in which to support individuals and families explore a range of presenting issues. Stephanie adopts a holistic approach to therapy, drawing on her training and interest in systemic family therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal therapy (IPT), mindfulness therapy, and clinical hypnotherapy. She has also undertaken training in neuroscience and the impact of trauma on the brain.
Stephanie continues to expand her expertise and interests in Bowen Family Systems Theory, and partakes in regular clinical supervision and family of origin coaching under this framework. She believes that every individual is part of a complex emotional system, and that this system can sometimes be out of balance, resulting in the development of difficulties for both the individual and the family. Helping the client to gain knowledge and understand their emotional and social systems reveals new and more effective options for problem solving in these areas and empowers the client in their overall life.
Stephanie also has a passion and strong interest in achieving and maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle and helps clients to understand the benefits of this on one's mental health. She practices yoga and meditation and finds value in exercise and nutrition, incorporating these aspects into her daily life.
Stephanie’s warm and considerate approach, along with her commitment to providing the highest standard of care, has enabled her to assist many clients achieve the balance and happiness they are seeking in their lives. She also has strong working relationships with her referrers, including local GP's, school counsellors and other health professionals in the Hills area.

- Advanced Practitioner Certificate in Clinical Hypnotherapy
- Trained Chilled Teens Anxiety Program Practitioner
- Trained Mindfulness Meditation Practitioner
